When you register a new debit or credit card to your Chop’t account, we conduct an authorization hold. This is a temporary charge on your account for $1 as a test to ensure this card will properly work with the app. This way, when it comes time for you to make a purchase at Chop’t, there are no issues processing the payment.
This $1 authorization hold will always be refunded to your card. Typically it should “fall off” after 1-5 business days, but it may take as long as 30 days depending on the issuing bank. Rest assured, however - it never actually gets charged.
